Where do these Instagram giveaway statistics come from?
When someone runs a giveaway with Simpliers, its date, country and platform are recorded. Every number on this page adds up from those records.
- When the data starts
- Simpliers launched in March 2019. The numbers here cover every giveaway run since that day.
- Which date a giveaway counts on
- A giveaway counts on the day its result is drawn. Most campaigns start days or weeks earlier, so the busiest days are the days campaigns end.
- How the country is determined
- The country is where the person running the giveaway is located.
- What the score shows
- The score rates activity on a chart from 0 to 100. A score of 100 marks that chart's busiest moment, and every chart has its own 100.
- What the middle giveaway means
- Half of the giveaways came in below this number and half came in above it. A few huge giveaways would inflate an average, this number stays unaffected.

Frequently asked questions
The questions people ask most about the trend data on this page are below.
What is this trend data based on?
It is based on every giveaway run with Simpliers since March 2019. The numbers on this page are calculated again every week.
My follower count is small, is a giveaway still worth it?
It is. Follower count sets the ceiling for entries but does not decide them on its own; in the chart above, the top quarter of small accounts sits above the bottom quarter of much larger ones. Your prize and your entry rules do at least as much work as your follower count.
How many entries does an Instagram giveaway get?
It changes from giveaway to giveaway. The entry distribution chart above shows how many giveaways fall into each entry range, so you can set your own expectation from there.
What is the best day to run a giveaway?
The difference between the days of the week is shown with current data in the chart above. Focusing on your prize and your entry rules works better than picking a day.
Which month is better for running a giveaway?
It changes from country to country, and you can see your own market in the chart above. Far more giveaways are run on the busy days, so in the quieter stretches you compete with far fewer of them.
A giveaway can touch more than one platform. This happens in about three giveaways per thousand, and those giveaways are counted on a single platform.
Giveaways whose country cannot be determined are included in the world total but cannot be picked on their own.
The follower and entry relationship covers giveaways run with a single account, and 92% of the data comes from Instagram. Areas with fewer than five giveaways are left out of the chart.
There is a 43 day gap in the early period of the data, and those days were filled in from the days around them.
This page shows what happened and when, not why. A special day name next to a busy day only says the dates match.
No account name, username or single giveaway is published on this page. Every number is calculated in aggregate.
